Network. Connect. Research.

Roma Network’s vision is to network, connect, and research to see transformation in Roma communities and the gospel shared throughout Europe.

Who We Are

Roma Networks is a grassroots network dedicated to connecting Roma ministries throughout Europe. Our main goal is to actively listen to those involved in Roma community ministries, understand their unique challenges and opportunities, and collectively plan for the future. In each country, we have established country representatives who play important roles in expanding our network. During meetings with these representatives, we work together to devise strategies for the future, believing that the solutions lie within the Body of Christ. When solutions are not readily available, we commit to developing them together. By involving individuals in the process, we empower them to contribute to the positive transformation of Roma communities.

Current Projects

Job Creation

Our goal is to provide Roma with the tools to start their businesses or support those who want to. We believe that teaching Roma how to start small businesses can help them support themselves and their families, and even create jobs for others in their community.

Education

In many situations, Roma children often don’t finish primary and secondary school due to various factors like language barriers, parental illiteracy, early marriages, and discrimination by teachers or administrators. Through various initiatives such as preschool and after-school support, we empower these children to stay in school until they complete their education. Roma Networks aim to connect existing programs and resources to those serving at grassroots level to address their specific needs.

Roma Bible School

After researching various Bible and theological schools serving Roma communities in the region, we organized meetings involving practitioners, theologians, missiologists, and Roma leaders to create a school tailored for the Balkan context.

Events

Roma Networks Conference 2024

The  4th Roma Networks international conference will be held 09-12 of April in Durres, Albania. It is very important in today’s time after all that has impacted our European context.

During this conference we:

  1. Reconnected with others and renewed our vision of Kingdom work among Roma in Europe.
  2. Heard stories from the grassroots.  We do not want to assume we know what the problems are in each context. Instead, we want to create room for the Holy Spirit to reveal to us what is really going on and also contribute and learn from one another by listening.
  3. Had workshops with needed tools for ministry. These workshops can then later be followed up in the future in different countries with people who are interested in doing it more in depth.
  4. Had regional meetings for participants. In these meetings they were able to strategically talk about their region and come up with goals for the future.

We Are Here

For centuries, the Roma or Romani have arguably been one of the most misunderstood people groups on our planet. Rumors have long persisted about these mysterious people who blow into town to seduce men and women, and steal everything in sight, including children. How can a people group of over 20 million worldwide stir up such controversy and debate about its identity and origin? How can the world have turned a blind eye to a population this large? They are debatably one of most oppressed, marginalized, despised, and neglected people groups ever to exist in humanity. Forgotten and dehumanized at every turn. Told they are nothing and nobody. This is the message that wallpapers the heart of a Roma. But what if they were to encounter Jesus?
